December 12th 2025
London, ON – On Friday, local MPP Teresa Armstrong met with the team at Anova to hear more about the $83,000 Capital grant from the provincial government’s Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) that was used to provide much needed upgrades to the shelters security systems. The project will help to strengthen safety and stability for women, children, and gender-diverse individuals escaping violence within London and Middlesex.
“Today’s recognition is about strengthening safety, dignity, and hope for women and children who turn to Anova in moments of crisis. With Ontario Trillium Foundation’s investment in a new, upgraded security system, this shelter is now even better equipped to provide the protection and peace of mind that every person seeking refuge deserves,” said Teresa Armstrong, MPP for London-Fanshawe.
With support from the OTF Capital grant, Anova completed essential improvements to the safety and security of the Clarke Rd shelter. Upgrades include enhanced surveillance, strengthened access points, and other measures that help ensure a safer environment for residents and staff.
“This project has allowed us to make critical updates that directly support survivors when they need us most. We are grateful to the Ontario government and the Ontario Trillium Foundation for investing in a secure, dignified space for the individuals and families who rely on Anova every day,” said Nikki Marsh, Fund Development and Communications Manager, Anova
