Donations FAQ

Does Anova accept donations of used items or opened packages?
Anova cannot accept opened toiletries, opened cosmetics or any items passed their “best before” or “expiry dates”. Anova will accept opened diaper and feminine hygiene product boxes if items are still in their original packaging.

Does Anova accept donations of new or used clothing?
Anova accepts donations of new and gently used clothing. Anova has limited storage and cannot accept out-of-season clothing. We cannot accept used undergarments. All clothing donations can be donated to our Donation Drop Off at 1067 Wellington Road.

Does Anova accept donations of large appliances or furniture?
Anova has limited storage space and cannot accept large appliances or furniture donations. From time to time, we will list priority needs for such items.

Does Anova accept donations of new or used baby equipment?
Anova accepts new and gently used baby equipment. Due to health and safety concerns, we cannot accept used baby safety equipment and furniture, i.e. cribs, car seats, high chairs, strollers and/or pack & plays

Does Anova accept donations of new and used toys?
Anova cannot accept donations of used stuffed animals and/or fabric toys. Anova will accept all other gently used toys. Anova requests that all toy donations are new during the festive season.

Does Anova accept donations of gift cards?
Yes! Gift cards give the gift of choice and self-agency to our clients and give Anova the flexibility to get exactly what we need, exactly when we need it. Gift cards to retail and grocery stores are appreciated. Some gift cards to consider: Costco, Walmart, Shoppers Drug Mart, Rexall, grocery stores, clothing stores or malls. Gift cards can be donated during drop off hours.

Does Anova accept donations of food?
Anova accepts NONPERISHABLE food items with preference for individually packaged items. Anova cannot accept any items passed their “best before” or “expiry dates”. Please refer to our updated Needed Items List for needed food items.

Does Anova accept donations of prepared food?
Anova adheres to strict safe food handling policies and procedures. Please contact our cooks directly to inquire about your food donation.

Will Anova pick up my donation?
